What does it take to be a fantastic nurse? Many wonder if they have what it takes to excel in the nursing profession. There are some key differences between an average nurse and a fantastic nurse. If you’re smart enough and dedicated enough, nearly anyone can become an average nurse. But it takes a certain something to elevate yourself to the fantastic level.
It’s interesting to note that the dissatisfaction among nurses does not stem form the labor of nursing itself, but rather the politics involved with working in healthcare. “
Nurses cited compensation, growth opportunities, and workplace culture as the three things they are most dissatisfied with.
“Nurses . . . have more issues with the culture of their workplaces, the people they work with and the person they work for,” Golledge says. “The factors driving the unhappiness tell different stories for these two jobs.”
As nurses we are given such trust and responsibility. Often people’s lives are in our hands. We a allowed to care for people in their most vulnerable states. And depending on your license level, becoming a nurse is as simple as completing a couple years in tech school and pass a computerized test. Somehow in that short amount of time and with a few electronic questions a computer screen, we are deemed competent to be a nurse.
I watched your documentary. I’m sorry for your experience. I myself experienced something very similar, except luckily for me, I am female and it was not a matter of the heart. I don’t understand how someone can completely transform themselves into someone else online and keep up with multiple identities, but they do. You’re not alone. It’s unfortunate, but I think your story is far more common than we realize. Most are probably too embarrassed to admit it it. Too proud to say they were deceived. But that’s what makes us human, honest, and able to live with integrity.
Making money on the internet is not a myth. But it’s not as simple as paying $19.99 to have Freddy in India set you up a website and have it go on autopilot, either. Making money online takes work. Nothing worth having in this life is for free. And blogging for cash is no different.
Many people have looked to blogging as a way to generate income. When I first starting blogging I never ever thought about making money. For a very long time I felt as if I wasn’t supposed to make money from it. This sort of coincides with how I sometimes feel guilty that I get paid to work as a nurse. Something inside me always told me that people would or already were judging me harshly for receiving compensation for caring for others, or in this case, blogging.
Many people have looked to blogging as a way to generate income for themselves. I’ll be completely honest. When I started blogging, making money was the last thing I had in mind. In fact, for a very long time I felt as if I wasn’t supposed to make money off of it. Sort of coincides with how I sometimes feel guilty that I get paid to work as a nurse. Something inside me always told me that people would or already were judging me harshly for receiving compensation for caring for others or in this case, blogging.
We do not set aside nearly enough time to express thanks for the many blessings that we have in our lives. I am glad that we have a day dedicated to be thankful and embracing family. Sometimes we forget just how fortunate we are and Thanksgiving is wonderful reminder to take a moment to count your many blessings.
In no particular order, and in no way encompassing the entirety of all things I am thankful for, I present to you some of my blog-worthy blessings:
You expect a nurse to have integrity and use good clinical judgement, but not every one does. It’s even possible that not everyone can. Judgement is subjective, and even though the it is the goal for any prudent nurse to give the same level of care as another, it just doesn’t always happen that way.
I want to take a few minutes to talk to you about affiliate marketing and introduce to you a company called Viglink. I want to share this with you because I think it will be helpful to you, your readers, and you deserve to be compensated for your work and words. This is the easiest and least intrusive way I have ever had the pleasure to monetize my blog with.
Women have accomplished so much in such a short amount of time.Being a patient, nurse, and technology advocate who is also female, is a rewarding challenge.
