Nurses Can Thrive When They Are Given Ongoing Feedback

The practice of nursing is ever-changing. There are always new guidelines and regulations that nurses are asked to adhere to, often with little information to accompany it. Nurses sometimes feel like they are just surviving because they are being asked to take on new challenges and aren’t completely sure of themselves. This is because many organizations will give out new job requirements without following up with the nursing staff and providing ongoing feedback.

Focusing on Quality Evidenced-Based Nursing Practice during Hiring, Onboarding, and Throughout Employment

In order to ensure that evidenced-based nursing care is consistently practiced, the training and focus on these standards must start on day one of the hiring process, be stressed during the onboarding process, and continue through employment. Eliminate Paper and Improve Patient Care Across the Continuum with Tracked Clinical Competencies

If I had an opportunity to sit face-to-face with each and every nurse manager in the world I would tell them that eliminating paper and using computerized automated processes is the one great way they can improve patient care across the continuum. One area in particular where this can really make a difference is in tracking clinical competencies. Because if you want to make sure patients receive the best care possible the first thing that needs to be done is ensuring that nurses are well trained and competent to care for those patients.

Take a Bite Out of Needle Pain with Buzzy on Shark Tank

Buzzy is a small vibrating device that looks like a bumble bee and is paired along with a small wing-shaped ice pack. Used together, the ice pack and the vibrations work together to provide pain management for needle sticks. At first I thought what Amy was describing was merely distraction, but it’s actually some pretty deep scientific stuff that is backed by clinical trials and years and years of research (and a ton of happy customer testimonials).

AfterShokz BLuez: Open Ear Bone Conduction Bluetooth Headphones Review

Of course, we already knew how awesome the Aftershokz line is. We reviewed the wired bone conduction headphones last year and concluded that this new technology should be must more healthy for your ears than any other headphones. We also think we are much more comfortable, specially if you have tiny ears.

There are many things about the AfterShokz headphones that are a complete upgrade from many other headphones that I’ve used before. Many of these features existed in the wired model as well, but there upgrades noted in the wireless model, namely the bluetooth functionality. We also can tell a difference in the audio quality and comfort.
