Best Bone Conduction Headphones Under $50 & How They Work

Of course, we already knew how awesome the Aftershokz line is. We reviewed the wired bone conduction headphones last year and concluded that this new technology should be must more healthy for your ears than any other headphones. We also think we are much more comfortable, specially if you have tiny ears.

There are many things about the AfterShokz headphones that are a complete upgrade from many other headphones that I’ve used before. Many of these features existed in the wired model as well, but there upgrades noted in the wireless model, namely the bluetooth functionality. We also can tell a difference in the audio quality and comfort.

The Nerdy Nurse's Guide to Technology Book

The Nerdy Nurse’s Guide to Technology: The Book

The Nerdy Nurse’s Guide to Technology provides the tools nurses need to improve their practices, further their careers, and solidify themselves as assets to their employers. Written with humor and easily digestible sections of information, this reference guide supplies nurses with the practical application tools they need to embrace technology and be successful.

Technology should be seen and used as an aide to delivering nursing care. If it is a barrier, then we need to break down those walls and make it useful for the care you give. Technology, like most things in life, becomes what you make of it. If you make it difficult and useless, then it will be difficult and useless. But if you make it prominent and valuable, then you might find that you not only experience increased satisfaction in your job performance but are a happier nurse overall.

Care Beyond Treatment

To the lay person, a nurse’s job may seem pretty simple: Nurses provide care for patients.

But the word “care” is a bit complicated. In a medical sense, it means to tend to needed procedures, carry out instructions from physicians, and do the clinical things that are required for an ill or injured person.

On top of all that scientific caring, there’s sociological caring as well. That means providing an equal level of commitment to the emotional situation, making sure that the patient and family members are coping with the complexities of their particular cases.

15 Things Every Nursing Student Needs to Know

When I entered nursing school I didn’t know very many nurses. I questioned everyone that I thought might know anything about nursing on what I needed to know to do well in nursing school. Unfortunately, I was given very little practical advice. But I don’t think it was the fault of the people that I had asked. I honestly think that many in nursing school struggle to make it through and wipe many of those memories from their brain. Sort of like how mothers somehow forget that agonies of childbirth mere years after giving birth and decide to go through that traumatic experience again when they decide to have another baby. But I’m a firm believer that the nursing school experience doesn’t have to be a terrible one. Even though it’s going to be hard, you will be tired, and you’re probably not going to have a great social life, you can make it through nursing school while enjoying the experience (or at least not completely hating it!).

nerdy glasses

This Nerdy Nurse Loves Wearing Glasses

I remember the first time I was told that I needed glasses. I was in college and sitting in the back of the room. The board looked terribly fuzzy and I wasn’t quite sure if maybe I hadn’t got enough sleep or if the teacher just had terrible hand writing. I asked a few classmates around me if they were having trouble reading the board. A few of them mumbled something that was not comprehendible. Two of them gave a succinct “nope”. I was a back of the class kind of girl so I just toughed it out for the day, but I did actually want to see what was going on so I sat closer to the board the next time
