Curious Critters is a colorful book for of vivid images of interesting animals that captivated and entertained my toddler. The title of the book Curious Critters is not only clever, it’s accurate of the book’s contents. The pages are filled with beautiful pictures of intriguing animals.
David FitzSimmons is a university professor and freelance photographer who has created a charming collection of images in this large-sized picture book. David holds a PHD from Ohio State with a specialty in narrative theory and components of storytelling. He also spent 20 years teaching high school English.
In the Book:
The great thing about book is it features animals that are common throughout North America. The vivid contrast of the animals against the white backdrops really catches the attention of even the most energetic of toddlers. Even though this book is geared towards ages 4-8, I was proud to see my 2-year-old sat quietly as we turned the page he named nearly every animal in the book.
Curious Critters is not only entertaining, it is also educational.
