Women like to be social. And when it comes to social media networks, women tend to dominate.
According to a recent survey, over 146.6 million Americans use at least one social networking site.My money is on facebook if they are only using one. Social media is changing the way we interact with each other and redefining the term “social.” A term that was once defined to the actual physical interactions between people is not allocated to fleeting communications occurring on the internet.
Interesting, to say the least.
And women, who seem to always have something to say (myself included), are leading the pack in social media usage.
Women are leading the pack in user base on both twitter and facebook. They also post more often than men. But, interestingly enough, men are dominating LinkedIn having a 63% share of the user base.
With smartphones and easy-to-use apps becoming so common-place, it is no surprising that we have had a surge in social media adoption. No one wants to be alone. Now with smartphones and social networking apps, you have entire communities of friends in your pocket.
