Terms of Participation

For “The Nerdy Nurse” Scholarship Award

provided by Ascom

By participating in the contest, the participant confirms that he/she accepts these conditions of participation, as follows:

 

• Organizer: The Nerdy Nurse LLC (“Nerdy Nurse”).

 

• Sponsor: Ascom (US) Inc.

• Eligibility: Any natural person who is at least 18 years old. Excluded from participation are organs and employees of the organizer and the sponsor, their families, as well as all persons who are in professional contact with this contest.

• Participation: Participation does not require the purchase of goods/services from the Organizer, but requires a valid account on KingSumo and Internet access. The Organizer is not responsible for any failure as a result of technical failure or other malfunction.

• Contest period: Monday, February 11, 2019, to March 4, 2019.

• Winnings:

• 1st prize: 1 x $4,000 scholarship: The scholarship is provided by Ascom (US) Inc. (“Ascom”). Ascom will pay the tuition fee for the winner at any accredited institution of the winner’s choice up to max. $4,000. If possible, payment will be made directly by Ascom to the chosen institution. If this is, for any reason, not possible, Ascom will reimburse the cost up to max. $4,000. directly to the winner of the contest, after the winner provided a copy of the bill (or confirmation of the course application) of the respective educational institution.

• 2nd prize: 1 x iPad Pro [11-inch, 64GB]: The iPad will be sent to the winner by March 31, 2019. There is no entitlement to payment of the win in cash or to the issue of a substitute profit.

• Determination of the winner: among all valid entries, the winner(s) will be selected at random at the end of the competition period.

• Winner notification: The winner will be announced via The Nerdy Nurse Blog and contacted directly by an Ascom representative by email. The winner must respond within 5 days of first contacting to accept the prize. In the event that the winner does not respond within 5 days of the first contact, the Organizer reserves the right to disqualify this winner. The prize may be awarded to another winner as determined above.

• Use of personal data: Participants’ personal information will only be used for the purposes of the contest as described in these terms and conditions. By participating in the competition, the participant grants the organizer and the sponsor the non-exclusive, territorially unrestricted right of use, without compensation, to reproduce, publish and make available the entries on the website and on the social media platforms of the organizer and the sponsor even after the end of the contest.

By participating, each participant hereby agrees that his/her personal data, such as name and email address, which he/she may provide in connection with participation in the contest, that the organizer will transfer the personal data to the sponsor and that the personal data may be used by the organizer or the sponsor for statistical and advertising purposes. The organizer undertakes to carefully manage the personal data obtained in connection with the execution of the competition. There is no guarantee that data transmitted electronically will not be viewed or lost by third parties.

• Exclusion from the competition, premature termination, liability: The organizer reserves the right to disqualify participants who manipulate or attempt to manipulate the competition and/or violate the conditions of participation or good manners and/or otherwise attempt in an unfair manner to influence the competition without stating reasons and to exclude them from the competition without notice or to confiscate their winnings and to revoke them.
• The law of North Carolina is applicable to the lottery.
• Legal recourse is excluded.
