My friends Kevin Ross and Keith Carlson are doing amazing things in the nursing social media realm. I just love the fact that they are embracing the nursing community online in new and exciting ways including a radio show and podcasts.
If you aren’t already listening, you should! This is one of the most comprehensive collection of live nursing interviews and it happens weekly on Mondays at 9pm. There’s been all kinds of interesting nurses featured on the show. These include authors at Scrubs Magazine, JParadisiRN, Joyce Harrell and Elizabeth Scala, just to name a few.
Although I’ve been asked in the past, I’ve never really felt I had a good enough reason to be interviewed on the show myself. I mean I blog, I’m active in social media, I love nursing and technology and all that jazzy goodness, but what on earth would I talk about?
Truth be told I could talk for hours about nothing, but I didn’t want to waste this valuable time and nursing space on “nothing.” Or at least nothing in particular. So I waited.
I waited until I had something that I knew was worth sharing. I waited until I finished my book so I could tell the world how awesome it feels to finally have it completed and how much I really think it can help nurses who are struggling with technology.
So this big, long-winded, salute to all the awesome things that are going on at RNFMradio is really a plea to have you come listen to my appearance on the show Monday 10/21/13 at 9pm. And asked tons of awesome questions!
I’ll be talking about my new book, The Nerdy Nurse’s Guide to Technology, using technology in healthcare, how I dealt with the sudden diagnosis of a pituitary tumor in the middle of writing the book, and who bunch of other interesting stuff!
I’d be honored if you’d tune in.
