Being a nurse is not without facing challenges and stress every day at work- whether it’s facing off against a senior doctor, helping a seriously ill patient overcome pain, or preparing for a test. For times when you’re feeling low and down, it might help to seek inspiration from great people. When the chips are […]
Nursing is a profession that both allows and requires you to stand strong. It could be said that standing strong is a requirement of the job, but at the same time it’s also a benefit. Many people benefit when nurses take care of themselves. In fact, if nurses don’t take care of themselves they won’t be able to take care of others. If you don’t stand strong for yourself, how are you going to stand strong for anyone else?
I am so thankful that nurses exist and do what they do. I am honored to be a part of a profession that works on holidays, often with little recognition. Thanksgiving and Christmas are just two of the many holidays that nurses sacrifice family time to care for the sick.
This Eggtronic Hub-It Sync and Charge Station review has been facilitated by a sample product. Opinions stated are my own. We have a lot of devices in our house. I can tell you now, that after exactly 6 months of ownership (most of those ironically in the winter months) that the car does in fact make me happy. But I can also tell you that I think cars like it, namely convertibles, have the ability to make any nurse happy. I especially think this is the case with nurses. Co-workers describe Laurie Ketterl, a nurse manager in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), as someone who continually challenges her peers to think outside of the box in order to provide excellent patient care. Ketterl jumped into action earlier this year when a premature baby, born at just 29 weeks, and his critically ill mother were in separate Intensive Care Units. Since the mother had never seen her son and would soon undergo a life-saving surgery, Ketterl arranged for the mother and baby to see each other for the very first time via a video call using two iPads. When the mother kissed her child on the forehead using the screen, surrounding staff watched in amazement as the baby responded with a kick. Thanks to Ketterl’s innovation and exceptional care, the hospital’s foundation has since funded iPads for the NICU.
