Blogging For Disney World

imageWhen I began blogging if you had told me that I would be paying for a family vacation to Disney World  all from the income I had earned from blogging, I’d probably laugh you out of the room. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I could turn a personal passionate into a lucrative part time job.

I started blogging as a way to cope with the stress of dealing with lateral violence in nursing. A particular nurse tormented me and caused me so much pain and suffering. But now, I sometimes think about the fact that her mistreatment help to mold and shape me into the person I am today. She “inspired” me to get online and connect with other like minded individuals. She is the reason I am a successful blogger today.

Blogging has allowed me to make lemonade out of the lemons other gave me. If you had asked me a the time whether I would want to face the grief or have it disappear, I would have told you take it all away. But in hindsight, I would likely not have achieved some of my recent greatest successes, had it not been for those negative experiences.

I guess it’s all in how you look at things. A glass half full or half empty is really only a matter of perspective. I have decided to look at it as a positive event. A bully, who tormented me, has actually given me great rewards.

Let’s do a quick run-down of perks I’ve gained from blogging.

  • A trip to Las Vegas to attend International CES
  • A trip to Los Angeles to attend Blog World Expo
  • A trip to Boston to attend the Meditech Nurse Conference
  • A New Laptop, iPad, and other gadgets and gizmos (purchased with income earned)

And now I get to add one more thing to my list of Blog benefits: A family trip to Disney World.

I am thrilled to be able to take my family to Disney World, but I am even more thrilled that I am paying for it completely with my blogging income. I never thought I would earn enough money to make such a large purchase from “putting words on the internet” (as my husband says).

Who knows where this blogging journey will take me in the future?
