Clorox Green Works: Natural Cleaners Review

green worksI was thrilled to be invited to participate in a Green Works review. In the process of moving from our old house to our new house it became painfully clear just how many nooks and crannies can become dust ridden and sometimes down-right filthy. And moving into a new house, you get the pleasure of all the unknown nooks and dirty crannies.

One of the most appealing things about the Green Works products is that they are naturally derived and free of the harsh chemicals plaguing many other products. With a toddler around, who has a tendency to lick random items, it is a slight relief to know he won’t be licking harsh chemicals.

I’ll give a you a quick rundown of of of the products, and what my husband and I thought of them.

Green Works® Naturally Derived Cleaning Wipes pack some serious cleaning power and are made with naturally derived ingredients, such as citric acid and wood fibers. That means they won’t give off harsh chemical fumes or leave behind harsh chemical residue. And they can be thrown in compost bin after using, since they’re 100 percent biodegradable. These wipes are safe for use on most non-wood surfaces, including acrylic, fiberglass and vinyl.

We LOVED these! Not only do they work great, but they smell incredible. My husbands friends kept asking me if I had lemon cookies in the oven. I’ve never had that reaction to scrubbing the refrigerator before, and was tickled pink by that. And even though they are biodegradable, they held up to being rinsed and used again several times.

From the cooktop to the countertop, Green Works® Naturally Derived All-Purpose Cleaner powers through grease, grime and dirt without leaving behind harsh chemical fumes or residues. Green Works All Purpose Cleaner is safe to use on multiple surfaces throughout the kitchen and bathroom, including counters, appliances, stainless steel, sealed granite, chrome, cooktop hoods, sinks and toilets.

I used this on the glass top stove and microwave. It cleaned well, smelled great, and didnt leave any residues. And even though my son doesn’t make a habit of licking the stove, it’s good to know that if he managed to find himself with an opertune moment to, it would be safe for him to do so.

Green Works® Laundry Detergent is tough on dirt and stains — and dermatologist-tested for sensitive skin. The powerful combination of naturally derived cleaning ingredients will leave laundry fresh and clean — without phosphates, optical brighteners or harsh chemical residue. The detergent is formulated for both standard and high-efficiency (HE) washers.

The detergent was fabulous. I felt confident that it wouldn’t leave any residue in my HE washer (which will cause those things to stink!). Our clothes came out clean and fresh smelling.

Green Works® Naturally Derived Bathroom Cleaner is made with plant- and mineral-based cleaning ingredients that power through soap scum, rust and hard water stains — without harsh chemical fumes and residue. It works powerfully on bathroom counters, sinks, bathtubs, tile and shower doors, removing tough soap scum.

One of the places we were most concerned with cleaning in both our new and old homes was the bathroom. We don’t want to leave any of our germs behind and we certainly don’t want to pick up any germs that anyone left behind. It cleaned well and it was a nice feeling to know when I was done I didn’t have to air the bathroom out.

Overall, I was very impressed Green Works. As a nurse, I have to combat infection and bacteria for my patients and myself. It is nice to be able to continue this trend at home without the harshness of many of the traditional cleaning chemicals. I was also glad to know these products are environmentally friendly because we should all be thinking of our planet’s future.
