Toddler Astronaut Costume Review from CostumeSuperCenter.com

supercenter[6]This will be our first “real” and fun Halloween with Ty. I’ve been pondering since before he was born the things that we could dress him up as for Halloween, so needless to say the list is quite lengthy. Fortunately, for this years Halloween I was introduced to www.CostumesSuperCenter.com and received an opportunity to review a costume.

I am very impressed with CostumeSuperCenter.com’s layout. It was incredibly easy to navigate and I especially loved how the costumes were sorted by age range, then genre, and then even by popularity/price. There were so many choices, but they were organized in a user-friendly, visually appealing layout. I browsed the toddler costumes and kids costumes for a while and eventually had decided that even though there were so many cute, and unique choices, Ty could only wear one on Halloween (at least at a time!)

I narrowed our selection down to 3 costumes. Interesting enough, they were all in the occupational category. I guess mommy and daddy are thinking on their boys future a little soon, huh? FW1544ASW-23PHDB-23

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAfter much debate, and many text messages to various relatives and friends, I choose the Toddler Jr. White Astronaut Suit! Although there are several reasons we choose it (such as, I don’t know, the hopes and dreams that our baby boy could grow up too be one!). The primary reason we selected this costume was for my husband. You see hair has quite bit of volume, and apparently his mother was a big fan $2 haircuts back in the day and his middle/high school nickname was "Astronaut” because of how large his hair made his head appear. Memories. Not his favorite, no, but a delightfully comical image for the rest of us.

The costume arrived quickly! I hurried to open the box because for some reason mail still feels like Christmas to me. That’s odd right? I even kinda like opening a bill, I guess maybe I think it will be cheaper, or maybe they’ll decided I’ve paid enough and they’re gonna let this one slide… yea, so, um, I love opening mail, especially packages!

IMG_0332I pulled out the shiny package to see what we would be playing with and was very impressed. This is not your drug store costume. The suit itself appears to be a wind-suit type of material that appears stain resistant and rugged. The ankles have adjustable straps, and even though Ty is small (in general, and for his age) it adjusted to fit him appropriately without any danger of him tripping on the legs. However, IMG_0333I was most impressed by the graphics and attention to detail. The buckles on the harness, and vivid colors used in the “NASA” logo really make this suit pop. Also, the patches are actually sewn on! This may seem insignificant to some by anyone who has ever ironed a patch on anything and expected it to stay knows exactly why this is important! Durability is so important when a toddler will be involved. It also came with an adjustable hat with NASA logo as well, but try as we might,  hat was no-go. I guess we still have a few months to work on that one at least. But Mommy, I don't wanna go on the space shuttle today!

Of course I had to put him in it right away. And even though he was not in the best of moods, he was mommies little trooper. Well, for a little while. Then he got into “But mommy, I don’t want to go onto the space shuttle” mode. However, he did very much enough the padded collar/tether (because that’s what he used it for). He also enjoyed playing with the zippers, straps, and buckles. And I felt safe for him to do it. Nothing was loose or half hanging off. This baby is sturdy, and Ty Proof!

We also just happen to have a rocket.

What? Doesn’t everybody?

So my husband and I are now thinking of ways to attached a push mechanism to it to take Ty out the mall and other various hot spots for the Halloween festivities. Should be great fun to be had by all, unless of course Ty has a meltdown. But he would never do that, would he?

I am thankful to be given the opportunity to test and review this product.

So the Bottom Line

Would I purchase this item? Absolutely. However, I would like to see a few dollars shaved off the $49.99 price tag. There are promotions on their website currently offering $5 of $50, $15 off $100, and $30 off $150. So if you are looking for costumes for the whole family, you can gain significant savings there. Overall I am pleased with the quality, craftsmanship, and ‘cuteness’ of the product. The website at CostumeSuperCenter.com is one of the most user friendly I’ve used, and the product descriptions are clear and pictures are fairly large and accurate.

I cannot wait take Ty out to Trick-or-Treat. I know that in addition to his usual “he so beautiful” stop and stares, he will get extra attention for his unique and realistic looking costume.supercenter

What if Nerdy Nurse doesn't check back for my responsed to her responses? (I do respond to all responses). So…to make a long, confusing story short and to the point, here is what I said. Well thank you! I know I'm biased and probably more vain than I should be but if there is one thing I do well it's make a pretty baby. Now he's a total butthead but gets away with it!
