After working my last 12 I came home very ready for sleep. I suppose my son did not get the memo that mommy would be going back to work so he waited till right after I went to sleep, Ty decided to start kissing me, pulling my lips, honking my nose and blowing raspberries on me. There isn’t a sweeter way to be woken up than by the love of my little one, but I really wanted and needed to sleep.
Luckily daddy came home from the gym 30 minutes later and I was finally able to get some rest at 8:30. My slumber was short live, as my dear husband woke me up at 11:30, telling my that Ty was going crazy, he missed me, and it was time for family love. Talk about a love overload! I love my darling family, but I so desperately wanted to sleep.
Eventually he did weasel me out of bed and we watched Ty run around the house and act a fool. One week away from the routine, and Ty went absolutely nuts. All the work we had done to break him of constantly needing to be hold and crying like he is dying, for no reason, had almost subsided. Unfortunately my dear husbands family gave into his every desire and now he is full blast after the computer, iPhone, keys, and other various objects we have limited his play with.
My dad wanted to take my husband and I out to dinner, for my husbands birthday. Ty behaved reasonably during the car ride, only because he slept all but the last 5 minutes. He was fair at Carabas, and did eat, which was a surprise to both my husband and I. However, he was a huge pain in the butt at Best Buy (Where we saw a celebrity sitting of Alton Brown, who was friendly and waved), Ty screamed like a banchi to be put on the floor, only to run up to strangers and try to crawl through their legs. Of course, we couldn’t let that continue.
I did, however, get to caress, and be humbled by the glory of an iPad for a few mere moments and it made the trip satisfying.
The car ride home I have been attempting to completely erase from my memory. Ty screamed like he was dying for 45 minutes of the ride. He was calmed during the last 15 minutes only by a constant stream of ice cubes in his mouth, and eventually falling asleep with a death grip on grandpa’s hand.
My husband informed me that this is how he has been acting since his family left.
Geez. I don’t think we’ll be having guests anytime soon. Ty simply can’t handle it!
