My husband has mastered the art of weight gain and loss

My husband has the ability to gain and loose weight rapidly. Its nothing for him to put on 20-30lbs in a month. But in the same regard, he can also loose that much in the same amount of time. Mostly this has to do with horrible eating habits and drastic periods of increased and decreased activity.

When I say horrible eating habits, I am talking eating an entire container of Dean’s French Onion dip in one sitting. It would not be uncommon for him to eat an entire carton of Birthday Cake ice cream in on evening. He has been known to take a Snickers candy bar and dip it into chocolate frosting. Truly bizarre and calorie overloaded things.
On the other end of the spectrum, when he is “weight loss mode” he counts every single calorie, he exercises sometimes hours a day, and is strict about everything he eats or does. OCD much?
I must admit that these habits are nothing short of stressful for me. Apparently, I am supposed to follow along with whatever way the wind is blowing for him on that particular day, and eat whatever way it is he is eating. I just can’t do it reasonably.

I find it very hard to eat ice cream at midnight. I am not a big fan of sweets, and usually only eat candy in moderation. And right now, he is in full on eat mode. About once an hour he is holding something covered in chocolate, full of sugar, or loaded in gresase and offering in to me. It sweet, I guess, but I just cannot eat like that.
The odd thing about this particular period of eating is that he is also exercising still. He has lost roughly 100lbs since the begining of the year, with diet and exercise. And even though he is eating whatever he wants, as much as he wants, right now, he is keeping the weight off. It’s actually quite inspring.
He lost of the weight to keep up with our toddler. I really cant think of a better reason to want to loose weight than to run around after Ty. Its one of the many reasons I love and admire my dear stay at home husband. I can honestly say taht everything he does is for the betterment of our child, and I am thankful for that.
So for now, as crazy as it is, I’ll tolerate his bizarre eating rituals, because its what he wants to do. And since he is raising my boy so well, and all, I figure that every now and then he can do what he wants, as long as it doesnt cost too much!
