I’m 24 not 14 and not 45

Today while shopping for some clothes, I had to stop midway through my trip and remind myself that when I buy clothing I have to keep in mind my age. I can no longer get away with certain fashions that I did as a teenager. For example: I spied a very interesting looking pair of hot pink jeans. They were cheap, like $8.99. They looked cute and comfy, but I know that’s inappropriate to wear to even the grocery store.

Being an adult and a mommy certainly does change my perspective on things. There was once a time, in the not too distant past, that I was focused on getting people to look at me, now all I want is just to be able to accomplish my goal without my son tearing down the place. I not discourage people looking at my because I am different. For my sons sake, I attempt to maintain a level of respect and dignity. And by that I mean, not wearing hot pink pants and converse.

I feel so old sometimes. Most times, actually. I often wonder if other people have the same thoughts about different instances in life. How often do people have to stop in the middle of what they are doing and remind themselves of their age?

Work again tomorrow evening. Seems like these off days just flew by. Its better that way. Spent a lot of money this week on my off days, and really need to avoid that for a while. I swear, it doesn’t matter how much money you do or don’t make, you always need more. I really don’t see where it goes, even though I know, down to the dime, even, where it goes. It just goes without seeming to really make a dent in anything. At least since I’m going back to school in the fall that will be one less payment every month.

I guess I’m going to go lay down at least. I’ve stayed up late enough to sleep in late enough I think. I’m thankful to have a job to go to. I am thankful for my lovely family and life I have.

I hear ya with the clothes! I am 38…uh oh…that 45 is getting closer and closer! I buy clothes that either make me look frumpy or like someone who can't get over the fact that they graduated from HS 20 years ago! I am sure I will figure it out by the time I am in the next age bracket; which is like tomorrow!
